Dustin Peavler
Public Safety Manager / Founder
Dustin Peavler didn’t just help build the city—he accidentally founded it while trying to set up a lemonade stand that somehow turned into a zoning commission. Legend says the city limits were drawn around where he dropped his lunch one day. To this day, that sandwich is enshrined in the municipal building under protective glass.
As Public Safety Manager, Dustin oversees police, fire, emergency management, and the town’s official Duck Crossing Program (which he claims “saves more lives than seatbelts and casseroles combined”). His daily carry includes a radio, a flashlight, a Swiss Army spork, and a pocket-sized book of inspirational haikus.
Peavler is the only known city official to have negotiated a truce between rival marching bands, chased a rogue hot air balloon across three counties, and singlehandedly removed a possum from the mayor’s office using nothing but a stern voice and a tube sock. He teaches a quarterly workshop called “Stop, Drop, and Jazz Hands” and can recite the city charter backwards in under 90 seconds.
